Hazaribagh National Park


Hazaribagh National Park a beautiful sanctuary distanced 19km and 135km from Hazaribaghdistrict, Jharkhand and Ranchi respectively. 

The park is more like Betla National Park to a great extent. The place is inhabited by animals like panthers, sambhars, spotted deer, bisons and some mammals. The place has well build towers to hold beasts and a canteen for foodies.  Hazaribagh National Park can be visited in all the weathers. The waterholes serve as a place to spot various animals like Cheetal, Kakar, Nilgai, Sambar and wild Boar specially in the evening. Spotting a tiger is difficult as the number residing the place is very less. As per the survey done in year 1991 it was found that only 14 tigers were left in the park.
Landscape
The Hazaribagh National Park is spread over an area of 184 sq km with an unsmooth boundary of steep hills and drainage system along with dense tropical forest. The park is situated over the Chotanagpur plateau and is placed at an elevation of 615 meters on the globe. The park consists of fake lake system constructed with the help of small rivers and dams in the place.
Fauna: The place is rich in diversity it consist of a variety of animals like Sambhar, nilgai, chital and kakar. One can enjoy their view either at the eleventh hour of the day or early in the morning nearby the waterholes. But spotting a tiger, sloth bear and panther is by mere chance or can say truly depend upon your luck. It is because their number is very less in the park decreasing the probability of spotting. As per the reports the last time a tiger was spotted was in the year 2006 near the rest house of the forest.
The best experience of visiting a national park or a sanctuary is its safari. And to make this experience worth a watch in Hazaribagh National Park, the forest department has build roadsin quite a good manner to have a look over every nook and corner of the park. This road is about 111km in length and has access to almost all place of the park especially where the wildlife can be sighted. The national park is surrounded by tribal mob, whose place of living act as the best sight for having a look over the wildlife from close enough.

 History
the Hazaribagh National Park was established in year 1954 and was soon encountered in the list of national parks formulated by United Nations.
A project for the construction of a state of the art Elephant park has been taken up in the state as per the orders passed by the deputy chief minister of Jharkhand in the year 2007. This park is believed to be a big boon in the state tourism funds.
The Hazaribagh National Park is placed in a diversified place be it in terms of its fauna or its flora. The place is situated in the lap of greenery ranging from low line grasslands to the dense tropical forest. The topographical state of the place shows diversity too consisting of both steep hills and high hills in the region. As mentioned before the place shows diversity of fauna along with flora as it accommodates various animal species like sambar, the wild boar, the chital and the nilgai. And some rare species of sloth bears, panthers and tigers are also found in the area.
Best Time To Visit
the park can be visited by various means of transports like via bus/car, train or flight as the park is placed in good terms with all these. The nearest railway station and airport is Koderma and Ranchi respectively.
the people or the crowd visiting the state Jharkhand has their biggest attraction for the Park than any other place in the state. The most suitable time to visit the natural beauty is thewinter season.

By Air – The closest airport to the town is the Ranchi Airport viz is 91 km away.
By rail – The closest of all railway station is the Koderma Railway station (59 km) and Hazaribagh Road Railway Station (67km) from the park.
By Road – the park can be reached by road as well. Some of the cities close to the park are Ranchi 91 km, Dhanbad 128 km, Gaya 130 km, Patna 235 km, Daltongunj 198 km, and Calcutta 434 km.
By Bus – the city is well connected with the others by a proper bus facility available at an ease. Some of the places linked to the city via bus service are Patna, Gaya, Ranchi, Dhanbad and Daltongunj.
Things To Do In - National Park
To make the experience of visiting the park worth a watch towers build up over and near to the water holes so as to spot the wildlife at an ease. Generally all the animals are sighted by these watch towers but due to the less number of tigers in the place, to spot them is on how strong is your luck. The last time a tiger was seen near to the forest rest house as per the report of 2006.
The forest has various tiger traps on its land. One of which is situated in Rajderba near to the left site of the park. And is made and used by the Raja of Ramgarh.

Accommodation
The park has a canteen to serve the visitors with the facility of food, but still it is advisable to carry your own food stuff, preferably uncooked food as the canteen also offers the facility of getting the food cooked by their chefs.
