Mouling National Park

Mouling National Park is located in Arunachal Pradesh state, and is covering the district of Upper Siang mostly, and some parts of the districts of East Siang and West Siang. This national park was secondly only to Namdapha National park to be created in Arunachal Pradesh, in the year 1972. Covering an area nearly of 483 sq kms, this national park forms a part to the west of the Dihang-Dibang biosphere reserve. Undulating terrains marks this national park with range from 750 mts to 3064 mts, which is the highest peak point at Mouling Peak. There is the River Siyom flowing along the western borders of the park, while a number of smaller rivers are also passing through the park namely the Semong, Krobong, Subong and Siring, all of which flow into the Siang River, which is at the eastern boundary.

The Divisional Forest Office situated in Jengging is having the jurisdiction of administration of the park and the towns of Along and Pasighat are nearest town at distances of 130 kms and 185 kms, respectively. Since the park area is quite remote and there is lack of communication facilities, approach to the park is not easy through roads. Along is having the nearest airfield. Due to the lack of communication, it is quite difficult to manage the park by the forest department and therefore most of the offices for division, beat and range are situated outside the limits of the park. Boundaries of the park have been demarcated by aerial surveys, and many natural and artificial demarcations are used as boundaries including the Siyom river as the western boundary while the boundaries on the land surveys is not yet complete. There are two ranges in the park which are Jengging range near to the Lissing Village while the range near to the Bomdo village is the Ramsing range.
