This hill station is located like hanging ball on top of a hill.Location of this station is at 1700mtrs from MSL. Khirsu is situated at a distance of 15 kilometers away from Pauri. This is slightly isolated and surrounded with thick dense forest. Several apple orchards and deodar tree are standing as a series to welcome visitors. Actually this hill station is not much popular among another hill station but gradually emerging as a place of interest. Avery large view of great Himalaya is visible from this hill station. Some of the peaks are not given any name. In this hill station, a place of interest is the old temple of Ghandiyal Devi. Unique calmness scattered at this place is only due to the existence of that temple.Main source of income of the residents of this area is apple farming.This hill station is also the natural habitat of various type of birds species. Another reason for developing this hill station is that, accommodation is available here with all basic amenities and luxuries too. Moreover, rates are affordable to all classes. A fine chirping tuning of birds will wake you up and fill with zeal and charm. Atmosphere around the accommodation is very pleasant and definitely one will want to visit this hill station repeatedly. One should take a revive to spend some time at this hill station. No doubt, the heavenly peace and calmness will be nowhere available except Khirsu.

How to Reach

Major three way of transportation are available to access this hill station.

By Air

The nearest airport to this hill station is Jolly Grant, which is located 145 kilometers away. A maximum 6 hours road journey from airport to Khirsu is required to be covered. This airport is connected with daily operated flights from Delhi.

By Rail

Kotdwar is the nearest railway station. Meter gauge railway line is available upto Kotdwar. Railway station is located 115 kilometers from Khirsu. One will have to be detained at Kotdwar.

By Road

Road connections are also available upto Khirsu.Bus service, cabs and other taxies are available upto Khirsu. From Delhi (ISDBT – Kashmiri Gate) routine bus services are available to this hill station. Khirsu falls on national highway number 119.

Ulkha Giri

This place can be visited either by 2 kilometer trekking or 2-kilometer drive. This place is located at a height of 1900mtrs from MSL. From this point, the magnificent view of snow-clad peaks of Himalaya can be viewed.

Kandoliya

Here is a temple which is devoted to God Kandolia.His temple located at Pauri – Lansdown road. The highest stadium of Asia is also located at the peak of the mountain. A number of visitors come to see this stadium only. The charming sunset view of this place is also another reason of fame.

Pauri Garhwal

This beautiful city is also located 15 kilometers away from Khirsu.Average height of Pauri is 1841mtrs from MSL. This city is located on the Kandoliya hills of the Uttanachal province.Though the topography of this place is diversified in nature but still some uniqueness attracts visitors time and again.
